General Joshua Chamberlain Check Signed

1 chamberlain2 chamberlain

Featured here is a wonderful signed bank check measuring 6.25″ x 2.75″ on dark blue paper, drawing $50 from J. B. Brown & Sons Bank of Portland, Maine written by 20th Maine commander Joshua Chamberlain. The noted Union officer writes this check to John A. Lowell & Co. The checks bears a stamp in the left with a hole through its margin. The reverse bears the endorsement of the recipient, as well as bank stamps. One stamp has slightly bled-through to the front. Overall Fine condition with a nice bold signature. Overall size of the framed piece is 18.5 X 25.

Framed with the check is a limited edition, hand signed and numbered print by famed Artist Don Troiani.  Titled “Lt. Colonel Joshua L. Chamberlain” it depicts Chamberlain on horse during the winter of 1862. Overall a stunning work of art and combined with his signed check, makes this a one of a kind item.

All comes professional custom matted and framed using only the best archival materials and high quality mahogany wood. Encased under UV protected glass, etc. Beautiful piece and a wonderful wall hanger.
