Confederate General A.P. Hill War Date Endorsement Signed

Hillhill3PRICE…..SOLD

Featured here is a bold A. P. Hill Signed Endorsement on verso of a letter from a soldier addressed to Colonel Taylor requesting a leave of absence to care for his family. Single sheet, 8.5″ x 9.25″. Hill signs “A.P. Hill” on the verso, dated December 28, 1864. W.H. Taylor, to whom the letter is addressed, approves the request with his signature at top right on the verso. The original letter on the recto has all but faded; however, Hill’s signature remains quite bold on the verso. There are also the faded signatures of Generals William Mahone and David Weisiger just above Hill. Hill signed this only 4 months prior to his death on April 2nd, 1865 at Petersburg. A great and rare item to add to your collection with multiple important Confederate Generals. Perfect for framing. Photo not included.
