Civil War Sixth Plate Tintype of a Union Soldier with Remington Beals 3rd Model Revolver

Featured here is a nice 1/6th plate tintype of a seated Union soldier holding a Remington Beals 3rd Model revolver. A bayonet hangs from his belt, and he wears a kepi with company insignia “K.”  Gold-tinted buttons, buckle, and “K,” and light blue trousers can clearly be seen.  This is housed in a pressed-paper case. There are some nicks on surface of plate. There is a small dimple in plate just below subject’s right elbow. Overall a nice piece featuring a rare weapon seldom seen in photos.
