Here is an exceedingly rare and desirable war-date clipped signature of the famed Irish CSA General, Pat Cleburne. Signed in a bold and crisp hand, highly suitable for framing. Overall Very fine condition. Photo Not Included.

Patrick Cleburne (1828-1864), a native of Ireland, had previously served in the British Army before immigrating to the United States. He joined a Confederate militia group as a private, but was soon elected captain. The unit soon joined the 1st Arkansas Infantry (later designated the 15th Arkansas) and was elected colonel. He was promoted to brigadier general in March 1862 and major general that December. He led his men in the Battles of Shiloh, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, and others. At the Battle of Franklin, November 30, 1864, he was shot and killed while advancing on the Federal line.
